Why are my cats ears bleeding???!?

Ok so i have a 10 year old flame point himalayan .. All white and a tint of orange on his tale face and ears .. And his ears are bleeding and im scared and hes cuddeling with me alot now. We cant afford the vet at this point but maybe later this or nxt month.. He has bloody scabs on the inside-ish of his ears that are at the biggest, the size of an ant. Im so scared for him please tell me what i could do to help him. And if its something that could cause death .. Like cancer :*( but please answer!! HE DOESNT HAVE FLEAS AND DOESNT EVER TOUCH HIS EARS so its not him scratching them 4 sure
